And there will be great earthquakes in various places, and famines and pestilences; there will be terrors and great signs from heaven.

But before all these things they will arrest and prosecute, delivering you up to synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for my name's sake.

This will be your opportunity to bear witness.

Settle it therefore in your hearts not to meditate before what ye do not your defense;

I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries will be able to gainsay nor resist.

You will be hated by all because of my name.

In your patience possess ye your souls.

Luke 21:11,19.

NOW READ THIS true story of a MAN WHO HAD ALL THE SAME TIME AND HAD NOTHING BECAUSE HE awoke from his sleep and he would not SEE JESUS ...

Zacchaeus the tax collector ... Luke 19.

Zacchaeus is presented in the Bible as the symbol of sinful man. The story says that Zacchaeus was very wealthy and was the chief tax collector. The publicans were those who charged taxes at the time and were considered by society as thieves. So Zacchaeus was considered by them as the chief of the thieves.

One day Zacchaeus heard that Jesus was passing through town and then decided to have a meeting with him but the crowd was great and if he tried to approach Jesus, at least be prevented by the crowd who knew his fame. As he was of small stature and could not see Jesus from afar, he decided to climb a tree.

"And Jesus entered and passed through Jericho. And behold, there was a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. And he sought to see who Jesus was, and could not, because of the crowd, it was short. And he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore tree to see him because he had to pass that way. And when Jesus came to the place, looking up, saw him and said unto him, Zacchaeus, come down quickly, for today I must abide at thy house "(Luke 19:1-5).

Imagine ... there were hundreds of men and women who fought against each other for a special place near Jesus. Each feeling more right than the other, and suddenly the Master looks for those who expected nothing, for whom he felt unworthy, insignificant, lost among the branches of a sycamore, and called by name: "Zacchaeus"?

So things are with Jesus. For Him there are no crowds, there are people, regardless of color, social class, size or weight.

He cries with his pain and rejoice in their smiles. You are so important to Him that one day he left everything and came to this world to get him. He knows his name, where you live, know your anxieties, you know you may be trying to be a tough man to the divine call, saying to himself: "I just want to see it from afar." But in reality you're a lonely man who needs it and sincere as any human being.

Here are some lessons that Zacchaeus gives us:

1 - He was a determined man, even though the crowd and his stature as a major impediment he quit to pursue Christ. The obstacles have not served as a reason for him to quit, and this is what God wants for us. Many of us have given up their goals easily. The Zacchaeus not, and God noticed this, giving you the direction to climb the tree and see. Know that the Lord God gives direction to everyone who does not stick to your goals.

2 - In verse (4) says that he ran before, and climbed into the sycamore tree. See, he went on, this is one of the secrets of a winner, go ahead, do not stop my friend, do not give up their goals.

3 - He saw the faith in the heart of Zacchaeus. Many do not like what they saw, because for them Zacchaeus was a thief. But to the Lord Jesus who knows the man inside he was a repentant man, determined to change. And he got what he wanted was to have an encounter with the Lord Jesus.

You can also get. See, at the beginning of the verse (1) says that Jesus was passing by. It was not written that he was going to have an encounter with Zacchaeus, He would go straight, but, Zacchaeus made the miracle happen in your life, through their faith. Remember, the word of God says that everything is possible to believe. Use this powerful faith that God gave you, call the attention of Jesus as Zacchaeus did and get blessings and victories in your life.
